ELIZABETH BISHOP, LMSW
Elizabeth Bishop earned her Masters Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University and has a Master of Arts Degree from NYU in Humanities and Social Thought. She has also studied critical race theory and intersectional feminist and queer theory with Angela Davis. She also has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from the University of Central Florida, all of which have richly informed her clinical practice.
Elizabeth believes in an eclectic and individualized approach to helping folks process and learn coping skills to manage life difficulties that they’ve identified, with compassion and self-determination as guiding core values. She has many years of experience providing psychodynamic psychotherapy, DBT, CBT and various Trauma-Informed modalities to adults living with depression, anxiety, PTSD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and Substance Abuse Spectrum Disorders. In addition, Elizabeth offers couples counseling to help support couples in managing a variety of relationship concerns.
