JACQUELINE CONTRERAS, LCSW
Founder & Director
Jacqueline Contreras brings rich clinical experience, sensitivity, and multicultural consciousness to her work as a psychotherapist with children, adolescents, adults, and families. With a degree in Psychology from Rutgers University, a Master’s in Social Work from New York University and Post Graduate in School Leadership, Jacqueline’s tenure as a bilingual teacher, college and guidance counselor, and her experience with children and adolescents across the special needs spectrum, enhances and informs her clinical approach today.
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice, Jacqueline now focuses on providing individual psychotherapy to people from all backgrounds, age groups and walks of life, as well as providing family sessions, parenting coaching and anger management classes. Her warmth and her relaxed office environment convey the loving care Jacqueline brings to her clients; she is committed to helping them resolve the issues that interfere with success in school and in life. Jacqueline tailors her therapeutic approach to fit each client’s needs, knowing that a “one-size-fits-all” treatment plan does not work. She also supports and educates parents so they are better able to meet their children’s needs and thus, help them shine.
Along with many cognitive and behavioral techniques, Jacqueline’s style and methods stem from her solid grounding in humanistic, psychodynamic, developmental and neuro-psychologies. Most recently, Jacqueline has added live video psychotherapy to her practice, making her even more accessible to a wide range of clients.
