~ From Childhood, to Parenthood and Everything in Between ~

Maria received her Masters in Social Work from Long Island University - Brooklyn with a specialization in Alcohol and Substance abuse. She has worked with people suffering from addiction issues including alcohol, substance use, sex addiction and gambling.

Maria started her career volunteering for Mount Sinai’s SAVI (Sexual Abuse and Violence Intervention) program as a first responder at the ER to advocate for victims of Sexual Abuse and interpersonal violence. This experience led to an array of jobs working with various populations such as ones with chronic medical conditions, people with developmental disabilities and people with severe mental health issues.

Maria previously spent 2 years doing private psychotherapy with patients with a variety of mental health issues ranging from anxiety, depression, addiction and personality disorders. Currently, Maria is working as the Assistant Director of Social Services for a large community non-profit in Manhattan where she helps to supervise other clinicians and case managers in a residential supportive housing setting. Maria has returned to psychotherapy to help those in need by using a CBT and Person Centered approach to help both individuals and couples get down to the core of their issues and feel like themselves again.

If you are looking to get a handle back on your life, Maria will use a non-judgmental approach to guide you to your own solutions. Maria is passionate about helping people reach their highest potential, work through roadblocks and begin to take control of their lives again. Maria is also tri-lingual – fluent in English, Russian and Italian.
